Membership Rules & Community Guidelines

Welcome to PeopleStreams. We’re delighted for you to be a part of our online community.

To maximise our community’s value, we’ve outlined some key guidelines. Our community guidelines define our expectations of members’ behaviour whilst using the platform and highlight what our members can expect from others in this space. We ask you to review these ahead of joining PeopleStreams.

The platform is managed by the team at Fitzgerald HR. We regularly post in the feed with content such as interesting people management articles, tips and guides, and legislation updates or changes. Our team also acts as the community moderator and we review all feed posts before they go live.

Our community is designed to be a closed space for individuals to share ideas, interact with one another and continually learn and develop.

  1. PeopleStreams is solely designed to support people professionals, business leaders and managers in the field of people and workplace culture. Any content added to the feed should be connected to this field of interest. Posts should:
    • be helpful and relevant;
    • be considerate and respectful;
    • be collaborative and welcoming;
    • value other perspectives.
  1. We have a zero tolerance approach to harassment or intimidation within PeopleStreams. Posts that contravene this will not be approved, and any members who behave this way will be removed from the community without warning or explanation. For clarity, unacceptable community behaviour includes:
    • adding content or comments that are illegal;
    • the use of offensive language (racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory);
    • insulting, harassing or intimidating members of the community;
    • being inflammatory or excessively controversial without sufficient credible evidence of your perspective.
  1. Wherever possible, please ensure all feed posts have the correct tags and share these on the right boards to ensure members are only receiving information that is relevant to them. If you are unsure what tag or board is appropriate, please contact Amy Fletcher, our Communications Manager who will be able to help.
  1. Be mindful of copyright legislation in relation to any content you add to the feed. If sources are used to inform your position, please reference these wherever possible.
  1. Please don’t share confidential information within feed posts or comments that could personally identify individuals within your organisations. For instance, if you wish to ask a question about an ongoing investigation, use a code such as ‘employee A’ or ‘EE1’ to refer to individuals within the case, which will sufficiently protect their identity.
  1. We allow debate within the community. The language used during debates should always be respectful. Members should always acknowledge and consider the value of other perspectives.
  1. We do not monitor messages. If you do not want to be contacted directly by other members of the community, you can remove yourself from the directory. Should you receive any concerning messages or unsolicited sales, please report this immediately to our Communications Manager.
  1. No advertisements or sales are permitted but recommendations for useful contacts/professionals are encouraged.
  1. If you are a client member of Fitzgerald HR, any queries regarding your account or membership with us should be discussed directly with your Fitzgerald HR account team. We may not be able to respond to you as quickly if you contact us via PeopleStreams.
  1. Fitzgerald HR will not contact you via messaging to request payment for services. Should you be approached through PeopleStreams by someone claiming to work for Fitzgerald HR, alert our team immediately.
